Why are Delhi VFS slots so hard to get?+

Delhi has the highest volume of Schengen visa applicants in India. With millions of people in Delhi-NCR applying for Europe travel, slots — especially for popular countries like France, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland — fill within minutes of opening. No — each Schengen country requires a separate appointment and application. However, if you are visiting multiple Schengen countries, you apply to the country where you will spend the most nights (or the first country of entry if equal nights). How far in advance should I apply from Delhi?+
